Is it okay to sign up to sell Mary Kay through a director that lives 6 hrs away from you?
Q. Instead of signing up with one locally? Will it violate Mary Kay rules?
Asked by whatwhatwhat - Sat Aug 1 16:28:00 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I agree there are no territories however make sure you trust your director. Also if you can still attend all the meeting locally you can have an adoptive director. You will still have your orignal one but you will have someone to help you locally if need be. Great to see you making that step forward.

How do I sell Mary Kay products without parties?
Q. I am trying to become a Mary Kay beauty consultant. I met with an independent sales director recently and I'm excited to get started. My only fear is hosting my own Mary Kay parties. I really really don't want to do that yet. I have always thought I would do just fine selling products door-to-door and to friends and recruiting that way. What do you think?

A. You are not the first nor will you be the last the difference between those that do and those that don't is fear. Once you go through the training you will have a better understand and can decide what you want to do. I had a terrible fear of talking in front of people before Mary Kay so I have several things to say 1. Start small we all start with friends and family start with a small group you only get 4 mirror and trays sets in your start kit if four is still too many do the one on one or double facial ask people you are comfortable with to help you practice the more you do it the easier it will get. 2. practice in front of the mirror or just talking out load to your self when you are more comfortable with what you are saying it will… [cont.]

Who here has tried Mary Kay and likes the product, what are your favorites?
Q. I'm trying to figure out what sells best. Most of my customers like Fragrance, but that's just a handful, so I figured I'd see what other people outside of my customer base like so I could stock up on those products as well. Thanks for your help. I do realize that people have different opinions on Mary Kay and not everyone likes it, but this question is for those who have actually tried it or have heard about it, have questions and WANT to try it.

A. I love the liquid foundation, it actually feels like foundation, not watery like some others and a little bit goes a long way. Friends have recently bought the mineral foundation from a party and hated it, ended up with pimples. The white foundation is awesome, I could use it by itself. Also like the retractable eyeliner pencil.

Is it possible to get started selling Mary Kay with only the kit?
Q. I am a single mother of a 4 year old. I work full time and go to school full time. I would like to make enough in Mary Kay to quit my full time job and be able to do Mary Kay and go to school. Is this a far fetched dream?
Asked by Nikkie - Tue Oct 13 20:03:25 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Hi--it's not a far fetched dream but it will take work and a lot of it. I sell MK and have been with it for 4 yrs. I have times when I have absolutely no inventory and do just fine. So don't believe the directors that tell u you need inventory. YES it helps but it isn't a make or break it. You may miss out on the odd $15 sale but seriously--those aren't going to make or break you. MK has a 3 day turn around from when you put your order in and then you have it--so your customers can have it within 3-5 days! Pretty dam good! I also offer them samples to get through those first few days. SO I always keep a ton of samples in (ton is like at least 3-5 of each of the timewise skincare). And at least 3-5 color cards or equal amount of samples. [cont.]

A. Your consultant starter kit will come with lots of great material that will help you to advertise including business cards. The most important thing is to simply let people around you know that you are a consultant. If you aren't sure how to sign up, just contact me at customizedbyu@aol.com and I'll send you the link.

I found it to be a fabulous company with unlimited possibilities. It is dual marketing so you by directly from the wholesaler which is the company and sell to your customer's no parties to submit or waiting to get paid. I came from a financial background so like you I research several companies since and found Mary Kay to be at the top of the list. It is truly like having your own business we have a saying your are in business for yourself but no buy yourself unless you want to be the support system is amazing however be sure whomever sponsors… [cont.]

Some stuff to ask about: Tables at public events Facial boxes Open houses Networking groups You also need to meet your neighbors. Even in this day and age, it's good to know who lives around you. Go to garage sales to look for cheap baskets in good condition. You'll need them for the holidays. The lady of the house is usually conducting the garage sale, she bought most of that stuff! A. At any Mary Kay gathering, all alcholic beverages should be saved after the class is over. Reason being, the alcohol will cause your skin to turn red and if she's trying to match your skin with foundation...well, you'll wind up with the wrong foundation shade later when you're not drinking and you won't like it as much. Whatever you serve as snacks, keep it really simple. Don't be elaborate. You can have beer and wine but save it for after the class is over.

This represents Mary Kay's sales to the reps. Other brands are also compared at the same level (from the company to the retailer)." What this means is that Mary Kay has sold more products in those categories to its consultants than other companies have sold to their retail outlets. Q. I'm looking to do something on the side just for fun really. I live in a small town so we have alot of Mary Kay and Avon people already. What other kinds of makeup can you be an independent sales rep for?

I have an old set of Mary Kay Bronzing Beads, which are now discontinued. What is a good equivalent?
Q. I love love love the particular color that I get with Mary Kay Bronzing Beads, but since they are discontinued, I can no longer find them (ebay can't sell them due to some French laws, or something). I haven't been able to find just the right color since. Does anyone know of a good equivalent to the Bronzing Beads?

What skin care products compare to Mary Kay?
Q. I've recently tried some of the samples of the time wise three in one. as well as the microderm abrasion and lotions.. I am in love, I know now I need to switch products but Mary Kay is just too steep in price. Is there something out there I can get great results that is comparable?

A. Clinique products are wonderful. Cliniqe is one of those examples of you DO get the quality you pay for. They not only have a wonderful assortment of skin care products and lotions, but they also have light hypo-allergenic make-up. You can purchase from their web site or from a department store that carries them like Belk, Bloomingdales, Saks Fith Ave, Dillards, and lots more. They are listed in the Clinique Counter Locator on the website.
